Account deletion

Request permanent deletion

You can request deletion even if Koinonia is no longer installed. Sending the request does not require opening the app.

Deleting your account is permanent. Your active account, profile, memberships, saved posts, push tokens, authored posts, and uploaded media are removed and cannot be restored. Subject to normal enrollment and community-access rules, the same verified phone number may be used to register again later.

What happens next

  1. Support confirms receipt through the monitored support process.
  2. Koinonia verifies account ownership without asking you to email a password or one-time verification code.
  3. The account is deleted after verification, subject to narrowly limited security, moderation, legal, and backup retention.
  4. Support confirms completion or explains any limited record that must remain.

Data deleted from active systems

Limited retention

Some moderation decisions and audit entries may remain for safety and accountability, with user references removed or set to null where required by the database deletion rules. Security, server, diagnostic, and encrypted backup records may remain temporarily according to operational need and provider retention settings. None of these records restores an active account or community access.

In-app deletion

If you can still sign in, you can delete your account from Profile โ†’ Account โ†’ Delete Account. A final active community administrator must transfer or add another administrator before deleting the account. The external request above remains available for people who cannot access the app.
